About

Jason Ferster photoJason.Pro

By day, I’m the marketing and communications manager for a consulting firm that guides utilities through enterprise software projects.

Huh?

Translation … I’m a real-life marketer that must contend daily with the marketing challenges common to small- and mid-sized businesses.

By nights and weekends, I write about the topics that I live during the day, which probably makes me some sort of marketing guru geek.

A few other quick facts:

  • I’ve vowed to no longer use Apple for illustrations in my marketing or business articles. They’re great. I get it. I bleed aluminum and named my sons Steve and Woz. But it’s unoriginal.
  • I believe great marketing is built on derivatives of selfless love. (aw)
  • I take my work very seriously. I don’t take myself too seriously.

Just Jason

I’m a husband and father—which reinforces daily the value of relationships and communication.

I consume large quantities of Lifehacker, Makezine and YouTube survival videos (for my inner post-apocalyptic survivalist).

A native of the Carolinas, and I love the institutions of my homeland: barbecue, bluegrass, beaches and the Blue Ridge. I’m also a fan of alliteration.
